Originally, we were going to use a spare exercise book we found at school as Cassandra's journal.
We drew depressing images of sad faces and also images of Cassandra's past such as the evacuation train and pictures of war. We scrunched up the pages to make it seem old as it is was meant to be old and battered.
However, we decided that the book looked too new and modern to be from the 1940's and the drawings -which were in black felt tip- also looked like they were drawn in the modern day. Therefore, we decided that this book would be used as an experimental book where we would practise drawing the pictures with different pens and ink.
